Earlier this week I raised a whopping £845.45 for Sports Relief which I am just so excited about. I did this as part of Team Honk‘s #Passtheproud campaign where a group of bloggers pass a virtual baton to each other through out the month of March to try and raise money for Sports Relief
Over the past few years they have raised 80k and are aiming for an extra 20k this year, fingers crossed,
I wrote over on my baby budgeting blog about why walking 3 miles was such a huge challenge for me if you would like to pop over and watch the video. Essentially I have reduced lung capacity due to some paralysis and my lungs only function at 50% so any exercise is tough. However I trained hard and built up my distance and put myself out there to walk 3 miles.
I have to admit I have not walked so far in the last 3 years since I begin ill so it was a biggie for me!
Why Sport’s Relief
Sports Relief is a great charity to be part of. All sorts of projects are supported through monies raised. Have a look at this
Of all the money raised by the public through Sport Relief, 50% is used to make a difference right here in the UK, and 50% goes towards transforming lives across the world’s poorest communities.
So how did it go?
It was cold, wet, exhausting and felt a really really long way but it was also exhilarating and rewarding and I am delighted with the amount raised.
