Martha and the Bunny Brothers by Clara Vulliamy

What a delightful read. My own daughter stated school last September and in this book Martha bunny is just facing her first day. Her little bunny brothers are so sad to see her go but she heps them build the happy bunny club to keep them busy. She then starts whirling around wanting to find and take all her very best things with her, and they become completed preoccupied with the den for their club. Its mayhem and exactly the sort of thing that goes on in our life!

Clara  Vulliamy captures exactly the spirit and mindset of a four year old who wants the comfort blanket of her favourite things with her. How touching in the end that she just takes the bunny club badge her little brothers make her. Siblings can be pains as they nick your toys but as Martha knows they are also so SUPER important. My too are touchingly kind to each other sometimes and it melts my heart. This book did the same.

It is a sweet, funny, perceptive and touching read about siblings and new adventures. The busy, fun illustrations give you lots to look at and are really engaging. A lovely book especially for a new school starter.
