I have just bought a bunch of new ebooks for Spring would you like to see what I’m reading…
Always worth putting something on my kindle for my 7 year old to keep him entertained and to give me some peace when necessary, it saves me carting around a host of toys and I do love him to read. He loves these books!
Terri McMillan is one of my favourite writers. She’s too good a writer to be acalled a chick lit author in my opinion so to apologise I have ranked her first . This book is billed as the witty and wise tale of a bored 40 something housewife . Fabulous. cannot wait to read this (saving it for my holiday)
The patchwork marriage £7.99
I adore Jane Green and I have read all her books. She does the best chick lit without it being cheesy and I always end up with a tear and a nod of some kind of recognition. Couldn’t put this down, a brilliant portayl of the difficulties blended families face. A great book for any step mums!
I have been reading Danielle Steele books for 20 years and to me they are like cup of sweet tea and a giant galaxy..a bit of a naughty treat but so comfortable and guranteed to be fab even if they don’t enhance your life. This book is set in Hollywood and has drama, film sets, embezzlement, love, doubt and a bit of mysetery. Perfect book for sunny days.
I’ve always loved a bit of self help and here are my latest forays in the field,
10 Mindful Minutes: Giving our children – and ourselves – the social and emotional skills to reduce stress and anxiety for healthier, happier lives [Kindle Edition] 6.99
To be honest I have started this but keep putting it down because I am a bit confused. I think it’s about explaingng to kids how their mind works and the benefits of deep breathing but not past that point yet. Not sure I ever will be, it’s a bit technical for me.
How to Do Everything and Be Happy – Your Easy Peasy Guide to Creating Happiness [Kindle
I am always looking out for ways to be happier and this was so cheap I Ithought it was a bargain. It also has rave reviews. Well I read it, all of it and I thought it had a couple of good ideas. But they were re instated way too many times and it was very prescriptive and a tiny bit boring I thought?
The 18 Rules of Happiness: How to Be Happy [Kindle Edition] 49p
You can’t even buy a choclate bar for 49p these days so this was a real treat. I loved it . Simple solid good advice. I did indeed feel happier when I read it and keep reflecting on it too. Tips like ‘be grateful and don’t feel sorry for yourself’ may sound very basic but are hugely powerful in practice. Easy read, quite short and to the point. I thought this was great.
Last but not least I bought some business books about blogging SEO and the like.
Looks comprehensive! Yet to begin….!
