Sir Scallywag and the Golden Underpants

Share

Written by  award-winning Giles Andreae, author of Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs and KateGreenaway winning illustrator Korky Paul, of Winnie the Witch fame this book was destined to be rather fabulous. Bottoms, knights and evil baddies (all the things bound to appeal to a little scamp) are the themes in Sir Scallywag and the Golden Underpants. Bound to appeal to young boys it had my daughter in stitches too. It is very funny.

Sir Scallywag and the Golden Underpants

King Colin has some rather fabulous golden underpants and they go missing. He’s distraught…

I’m lost without my underpants

My umderpants of gold

and besides its rather draughty

and my bottoms getting cold

Sir Scallywag, an unlikely hero, (age six) comes gallantly to his rescue  and take on the giant who had pinched them to wear on this head. It is a very funny-poem story that rhymes becutifully and that will really make you chukle. The pictures are superb, full of comic details and the more you look the more you will see.

Sir Scallywag and the Golden underpants  is an out and out delight and a real pleasure to read out loud.

This book is on general release on TODAY! If you would like to win a copy  please hop over to my Baby Budgeting blog where you will find a little competition.

Good luck!

When
King Colin’s golden pants go missing, he calls for Sir Scallywag, the bravest
knight in the land. But . . . Sir Scallywag is only 6 years old and with an
evil giant to pursue, it’s nearly mission impossible! Luckily, it’s a story of
David and Goliath. With his trusted steed Doofus at his side, Sir Scallywag
proves that even the unlikeliest hero can be the bravest knight of all.

Giles Andreae is an award-winning children’s author and has
written both fiction titles and bestselling picture books, such as Pants
and The Lion who Wanted to Love. He has won the Federation of Children’s
Book Award and the Booktrust Eary Years Award, but he is probably most famous
as the creator of the phenomenally successful Purple Ronnie, Britain’s
favourite stickman. Giles lives in Notting Hill, London with

his wife and four children.

Korky
Paul’s
bright
energetic style is instantly recognisable. With a string of awards to his name,
including both the Kate Greenaway Award and the Red House Children’s Book
Award, he is best-known for his portrayal of Winnie the Witch, everyone’s
favourite magical mischief maker. Korky has two grown children and lives with
his wife in Oxford.
