Jennifer Jones Won’t Leave Me Alone (A Kid’s Book for Valentine’s Day)

I adored this funny rhyming book of first love. I recognise myself as the forward Jennifer sitting next to the little boy I adore in class, bugging him with hearts and kisses and adoration!

Jennifer Jones Won't Leave Me Alone

The front cover sums it all up. The little boy is definately not wanting the affections of Jennifer and is delighted when she leaves. But of course true love wins the day and he misses her and no longer wishes her stuck in the arctic but wants her right back by his side.  His embarassment in front of his friends forgotten he shouts about how he feels! This book is an absolute delight. Perhaps even more so for adults than kids. I love Jennifer Jones won’t leave me alone!

I adored the clever illustrations, scratchy drawings next to photos and textures, such big expressions in minimal lines. A truly fab book and a real pleasure to read out loud. Made both my kids (4 and 7) really giggle and I read it a second time to myself!
