This April Annabel Karmel has teamed up with CiTV to release Annabel’s Kitchen. This is a series on cooking with children. It’s lots of fun and really shows how cooking can be a fab thing for kids to do. It has 2 crazy penguins, singing princess cupcakes and lots of tasty recipes and really works to engage kids with food they are making, Plus there are amazing gadgets that cooks can only dream of and a Scrummy-o-meter which sniffs the food to make sure it’s delicious. You can find this on CiTV at 12 pm and 3.30 and the episodes are just 11mins long. Perfect!
Anyway – to the book Annabel’s Kitchen My first cookbook . This lovely hardback has just been released and has a huge variety of recipes for kids to try. Lots of step by step colour photos too (always a help to me!) The food ranges from jelly boats and animal cupcakes to fresh pasta and banana icecream. Annabel give s lots of tip along the way which are really useful and the many pictures really help you feel you know what you are doing.
The food all looks great fun for kids- oink oink sandwiches anyone? pasta, soup and paellas too. It’s a comprehensive, visual kid friendly book.
I think kids will be really keen to have a go after looking thorugh. Mine were and our Spanish Tortilla bear was a success (and they were very proud.)
Annabels Kitchen is published by Ebury Press and costs £12.99
